Pay attention. Major severe weather threat this evening and tonight. Tornadoes possible. Several days of severe threats

Severe storms are likely late this evening into tonight, with damaging straight-line winds, along with a few tornadoes, being the primary threats. Some large hail and instances of flooding and flash flooding will also be possible. The severe threat will decrease into the predawn hours as the storms crawl to the southeast into northeast Kentucky and south-central Ohio. The severe threat is greatest in the orange and red areas.
Heavy rain will begin on Wednesday and continues through the weekend as a frontal boundary stalls out over the Ohio Valley in a southwest to northeast orientation. Repeated rounds of heavy rain will fall on the same areas bringing significant flooding. The WPC 7-day precipitation forecast highlights the southwestern basin where the highest totals are expected over the next week. This will be a WIDESPREAD, HIGH IMPACT EVENT.

In addition, tornadoes, severe wind gusts, and large hail will be possible across a broad area from north Texas northeastward to the southern Great Lakes.
